Auction Fun Raises MCC Funds
The monster cookie auction was once again a highlight for Covenant youth as they raised money for the annual Christmas Giving Project.
Doug, as auctioneer, quickly raised audience enthusiasm. In the end, it became a double giving project: Norman and Pearl, who jointly bought the four-layer monster cookie, gave the cookie to Kelvin who was recuperating at Boundary Trails Hospital from a fall.
The young people baked cookies on Saturday and then after church on Sunday held a “Coffee and Cookies” fellowship time. Donations for cookies, as well as the money raised by the monster cookie auction, went to support more than eight MCC projects that they chose. These included among others, Soccer for Peace, Clean Well Water, Education. A total of $3,898.71 was given to MCC projects through the Christmas Giving Project.
